The Beta Pi Chapter of the Delta Lambda Phi National Social Fraternity approached me in early January of 2010 to redevelop their website. After working with the members to assess their needs and desires for the website, I developed an integrated front and back-end website using WordPress and Google Apps. I also created a Facebook fan page as part of a social networking strategy to promote the chapter locally.
Google Apps was utilized primarily as an information management system to store chapter documents, calendars, and email for the chapter’s Executive Board. The integration of WordPress and Google Apps provided a way to streamline communication between members and increase transparency between the Executive Board and the general membership.
WordPress was also used to generate the public-facing website and enable approved members to edit and maintain the content on the website in a simple and hassle-free way.
